Our GBH Alumni network is grrowing! Please join us at our luncheon where we’ll highlight what’s
happened in the past six months and we’ll reveal our growth plans for 2025! We’ll also have guest
speakers with special insight into how working with our Golden Bears Alumni network can be huge
catalyst for growth in so many areas of our wider community.
Speakers
Dr. James Helliwell is a Victoria-based entrepreneur, anesthesiologist and CEO of Eupraxia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (EPRX-TSX), one the fastest growing biotech companies in Canada and the U.S. and a Bears corporate sponsor in 2024-2025. James is former swimmer and cyclist at Harvard University and will tell us how the leadership and teamwork skills he saw there and which he sees in spades in the GBH Alumni network align perfectly with those qualities required to compete and win in today’s global corporate world. James will attend both Calgary and Edmonton luncheons.
Jakub Brogowski is a former Nordic Combined (ski-jumping and cross-country skiing) athlete and was one of Canada’s leading investment bankers before becoming CFO of Kiwetinohk Energy (“Key-WHEAT-In-Know”) (KEC-TSX), a Calgary-based oil and gas producer that’s on a leading growth path with core oil and gas assets in north-western Alberta. Jakub will tell us how his company came to partner with the Bears for the 2024-2025 season and the significant impact this partnership has had on his executive team, employees, Kiwetinohk stakeholders and on a First Nations community in Sturgeon Lake, AB. Jakub will attend both Calgary and Edmonton luncheons.
Dr. Randy Gregg knows what it takes to help build a winning team, as we all know from his record with the Golden Bears, Oilers and Edmonton Riverhawks Baseball Club. Randy will join us at lunch to share his thoughts on how lessons he learned and friendships he formed while a Golden Bear made a lasting impact on him, and why he’s hoping to help the Golden Bear Alumni group grow our base of support and enhance our collective ability to make long-lasting and impactful contributions to the wider Edmonton community. Randy will attend the Edmonton luncheon.
